Very Canon Phantomland fanart. I drew this while in Tracon.
HAHA OH GOSH Raakel I somehow forgot you drew this but wow I’m so glad you scanned it!! Thank you!! <3<3
Nothing’s better than soapy interpretations of my comic
THIS WEEK ON PHANTOMLAND I bring you a sketch because I ran out of time to ink the damn page! But I guess someone might find this interesting
OH LOOK it’s an update!
After this page you’ll probably understand why I wrote all the drivel about genetics and weird teeth earlier
Anonymous said:Is Santa Luison the country’s capital city? If not, is it important in any way other than having the ghost population?
Yup, it’s the biggest city as well. Everything important, country politics etc, happen in there. Other cities exist too but the rest of the country is mostly hicksville
Anonymous said:The stars on that goddess’ dress and crown resemble the star markings on Cypress uniforms. Is this intentional?
Sometimes I doodle worldbuilding stuff
Religions are a fringe thing in modern Santa Luison although originally the city got it’s name from Lui, goddess of wisdom. There were a bunch of other deities too, but she was the most popular for a time
Every last friday of the month at a local disco/bar/restaurant you could see these four extremely loud female individuals dressed provocatively, laughing like shrieking harpies, getting wasted and judging loudly anyone who dared to try and flirt with them, while spilling wine and food everywhere, and ending the night only until one of them ruined a strangers shoes with vomit (it was usually the one with a magpie nest of a hair) but nobody could really complain because they always tipped extremely generously
(Maaria’s Amber, my Scott, Leppu’s Leona and Suspu’s Helga ♥♥)
AW MUURA you’re so great!! I loooove the atmosphere in this one, legit badass girls’ night out fuck yeah ;;; what a dream posse

In some of the latest pages, Rossini mentioned that “government was a total mess AFTER THE WARS.” Does that mean that the country Santa Luison is located in was involved in a series of conflicts it lost, and ended up with ruined infrastructure and state of anarchy like Germany after World War 1? And if Rossini was a child back then, does that mean that it has been at most 30-35 years since the mentioned wars? What’s the story behind this?
Good question, thanks! Actually I might have to retcon that part because I’m not sure how many wars there actually were, haha. Probably just one. But you’re correct, it’s meant to resemble the WW’s in real history, basically this huge event that turned the country unstable and corrupt for a period of time. The war ended around 45-50 years ago, Rossini was born sometime after but he saw the effects of it as a child

Is Cypress HQ off-limits to no-ghosts? Or do some normal people pay quick visits there (like politicians or high-ranking police officers who have business with Chief)?
Never really thought about this before but thanks for bringing it up! I suppose regular people need a special permit to get in. Crazy political extremists might try to blow up the HQ if they got the chance :D
ymedron said: Kannattaa googlettaa “genetic switch”, se todennäköisesti vastaa ajatustasi vanhoista geeneistä jotka tulee takaisin. Tuli ensimmäisenä mieleen että joillakin ihmisillähän kasvaa häntä. mahdollista ilmestyä ghost-tyypeillekkin. :D
WELL YEAH by that logic some of the characters could have tails, that would be pretty hardcore weird……. Geez I gotta sit down for a bit. Motherfucking tails
ladybajingo reblogged this from you and added:
NOPE DO IT IM SOLD. I WILL BUY EVERY BOOK. GRUMPY BIG DUDES WITH SHARP TEETH ARE MY LIFE AND IM GOING TO CRY FOR YEARS. THERE WILL BE A LAKE OF MY TEARS AND THEY’LL CALL IT LAKE OF THE BARA LOVING LOSER LADYBAJINGO.
Hahaha holy shit, I approve of this reaction. Can’t blame ya though sharp teeth are pretty rad!
bloody-cyber-punk said: thats cool and all, but it looks straight up canine. wouldnt it make more sense to look more primate like if its from our past evolutionary stages?
True! But primate teeth are really humanlike, only with bigger canines, and I kinda want to avoid giving my characters that particular “vampire” look. Perhaps there was some species before primates that had more dog-like teeth, or maybe the virus itself is equipped with those particular genes? In any case this whole thing is meant to be very mysterious and will only get more crazy and implausible as the story progresses anyway, haha. Thanks for your input though!
Stuff I’ve been thinking about but don’t know if I’ll ever have the chance to properly establish in canon
Basically the ghost virus changes a person by activating pieces of junk DNA which will then manifest in the body over time as the cells get replaced naturally. Things like stronger bones and muscles, but I’ve been thinking of some subtly weird and creepy details as well. Teeth might grow back when knocked out? And they’d grow a bit sharper than necessary, like an animal’s teeth??
I dunno, if there’s a genetics expert out there feel free to call me out on my bullshit! But I kinda like the idea that the human genome would carry leftovers from previous stages of evolution which the virus then uses to “improve” it’s host
MY WEEKEND AT TRACON WAS PRETTY FUCKING DELIGHTFUL BASICALLY
Myla surprised me with cosplay!! Look at this dedication, she even used her own hair! And the bow is accurate too??? I’m at a loss of words aahhh aaaa wow I never expected something like this to actually happen someday. Can you imagine how it feels to meet your own character in real life, let me tell you it is lovely
Photos by muura, I suspect some better planned shots will follow later!
