Ah yeah I’ve thought about that a lot actually :D I concluded that it serves the story better that they get to keep their faces. So in theory there’s a chance your mother may bump into you, and recognize you, but she’ll quickly realize it’s more like an uncanny knock-off version of you and not the “real thing” at all… which makes her feel confused and upset to the point she’ll just reject you completely and yeah it’s kinda tragic really!
