Korra season finale

I gotta ramble

Wowww I know they originally intended to make a miniseries and end the whole thing here but the conclusion felt like a giant cop-out to me?? :O

I was expecting some kind of clever twist like NO KORRA YOU WERE THE BULLY ALL ALONG and when she loses her bending she’d gradually realize how privileged she’d actually been and that the equalists had a fair point and and and…

But all that moral complexity I expected was just flat-out forgotten and the equalists were made into full-on baddies by the end :( Was there really any point or a lesson to be learned from this whole conflict? No?

All the solutions were too EASY! Korra loses her bending? No prob, Aang will immediately appear outta nowhere and give it back. Oh yeah and let’s give bending back to everyone else too! Lin is just a worthless old grandma without her bending, right? Wow it must truly suck to be a non-bender in this world! Thank god we beat the equalists so they won’t come to nag us about it anymore.

And don’t get me started on Makorra……. why would you expect me to care about a love interest without fleshing him out first. All I thought about Mako is that he’s a boring two-timing douche

Don’t get me wrong I really did enjoy this series, each episode was super entertaining and I nearly shed a tear at some of the battle scenes… especially episode 6. So DAMN BEAUTIFUL ANIMATION ahhh ohhh ;;___;;

I just wish they’d handled the season finale in a more clever way. Still looking forward to S2 though!
