I constantly have this dilemma of wanting to go really far with the show-don’t-tell in my comic but at the same time I know the average reader loses track of things very easily, especially since it’s a webcomic

I’m not surprised if someone totally forgot that Jon tortured a guy (who’s also Rossini’s brother!) ~1½ chapters ago… so yeah, I drew a flashback of it just in case. I’m still not sure if everyone figures out Chie’s train of thought here but uhhh, I hope they do

  1. angietumblz said: 2/2 It can be a tough thing to handle, as an artist. I think it still read well, and it’s so small it’s a nicely-sized reminder for Chie’s feelings!
  2. angietumblz said: Honestly, like you said, it’s really just because it’s a webcomic. I know it’s not uncommon for webcomic readers, talking about myself here, to sometimes reread the entirety of the comic, because of how it’s formatted to read better at once. ½
  3. faitherinhicks said: I think the flashback worked really well. It helped indicate her frame of mind and explain why Chie did what she did. I think it would’ve worked well even if you were delivering the comic all in one bunch. Good stuff this update! :D
