Some asks I’ve had piling up! Sorry it took so long to reply.

One thing I really respect you about is how you’re able to draw different and varying body types. How long did it take for you to get so good ‘bout it? I’m practicing, but haven’t quite gotten the hang of it yet.
Thank you! I’m glad you appreciate it. I’ve been aware of body types for ages but I guess it wasn’t until a couple years ago I started putting effort to it. Turns out it’s fun to draw different kinds of humans! Especially when you learn to make each one look appealing in it’s own way. I’ve still got muuuuch to learn though. Thumbs up to you for practicing as well! Just remember to gather a ton of refs and observe them carefully!

Two things, number one: a lot of folks cannot do the 10 minute thing. Usually, if you can do that, you are psyched as balls and having an idea in mind, and I can already tell you that these folks will still correct as they go. Most professionals need to warm up, a lot of professionals really just go sketchy as hell and then refine refine refine. Don’t sweat it! As long as you keep going, you’re doing it right! Okay, second part is, while a lot argue there are no shortcuts, there is such a thing as working smarter, not harder. If you haven’t yet, I highly suggest studying the skeletal and muscular systems of the body (watch Acland’s Atlas if you can). Like, yes, figure drawing will still be required along with practice, but having a direct checklist of landmarks to utilize and cover, as well as knowing how and why bits and pieces deform, speeds up things SO MUCH. Anyway, love your work! Godspeed! :D
Ah, well, I personally know people who can whip up a solid drawing in 10 seconds flat with no undersketching whatsoever and I’m envious of that skill. I know it’s no use whining about it though, my choices are to either grit my teeth and learn that myself or be content with my own skillset. But thanks for the tip! I’ll look up the atlas you mentioned! I really wanna get more familiar with bones and muscles but my collection of references isn’t all that great or consistent.

Hi! I got inspired by the other anons and wanted to express my feelings about you and your stuff also. I have followed you for years now, I love your stuff! I enjoy hearing about you. I’m finnish also and have met you in conventions a few times! I just really love seeing what you do and how you put effort in it! I got upset when I heard you have been through some mentally tougher times. I’d like to be there for you, but i’m not sure how? I’ll definitely keep following you for years to come!
Gosh I wonder who you are. I hope I made a decent impression of myself at cons… I’m flattered, you’re very kind to care so much about a complete stranger. Dunno what you could do to help, though, I’m rubbish at making friends so I don’t dare to disappoint you with that haha, but honestly it’s plenty reassuring to know I’ve got a steady follower of my works out there. Thanks for writing the message, it means a lot. Come say hi at some future con, let’s have a chat!
