@chibisofa answered: I love your comic and characters and you rock.
Gosh guys! Thank you so much! ;;;;
I actually get kinda emotional about FLCL. I first saw it at a tender age and it’s been one of my biggest inspirations since. It’s got this colorful Gainax-style craziness going on but there’s stellar writing in the mix as well. Someday I wish my own works will reach the same level of cool and awesome.
I’m excited about the sequel series but not surprised at all if it turns out garbage. The original was created in a very specific time and place; it was basically an inbetween project for Gainax folks to get rid of angst caused by Evangelion and experiment with new (at the time) digital animation tools. The result was a chaotic impulsive mess that somehow turned out brilliant.
Maybe the sequel can work if they manage to hire Kazuya Tsurumaki and Yoji Enokido and have the story be about new characters in the same universe. Mayyyyybe
Another gal I’ve had on my mind for a while and finally nailed her outfit! She leads a gang and puts curses on people.
I’m gonna tag this stuff #headspacetown, it’s not a comic I seriously plan on drawing but it’s fun to develop characters for it
It’s good to have friends who have hot characters so I can draw them in some NASTY LATEX GEAR YEAH!
I would’ve added a gas mask, too but this already got out of hand, I was just going to doodle a sketch fffffffffffff..
Character is Jon from Phantomland
IT’S GOOD TO HAVE FRIENDS WHO DRAW NAUGHTY STUFF ON MY BEHALF. Hahaha thanks man!! I’m very flattered you like him so and truly can’t disagree with this outfit you put on him! Well done 👍👍
Apparently people have been getting icky trypophobia feels from that last pic so I tagged it… although no, his face isn’t actually covered in holes. That would be way too gross hahaha
The dots are a sort of skin rash caused by the ghost virus (many real life viruses cause rashes too) and it tends to spread under certain conditions. Design-wise the rash is meant to give the spooky form a more “diseased” look so people wouldn’t confuse it for some random magic thing. There’s weird shit in this comic but it’s not magic!
I don’t always draw fanart, but when I do, it’s hella spoilery.
I’ve been thinking of drawing proper fanart of Phantomland for ages. The recent events are sooo delicious! I can hardly wait to see where things go next.
Everyone go read @maariamph‘s Phantomland right now if you haven’t already.
EDIT: fixed an eye situation~
Anniiii oh my god! I still fondly remember the first fanart you drew me so I’m super excited you drew another one! I love how you pulled off the glow/smoke effect in color, it’s exactly like I intended! The katana also has really pretty detailing which caught my eye ;;; wehh thank you!!
I guess this pic’s technically a spoiler but I’m thinking screw it, it’s too cool not to reblog. If the sight of a spooky man in uniform intrigues you please read my comic to find out what it’s all about, haha
