heyo! i was rereading phantomland from the beginning and i noticed that you bring up the fact that jon has 'hired' amber and elias to work for/with him? it's been mentioned a couple times, so i started wondering! is this something you'll elaborate on, or did the answer just go straight over my head? they all work for cypress, so how would jon 'hire' them? anyway, i thought i'd inquire, but if it's a spoiler or i just ended up asking a really dumb question, i apologize! ;-)
Sup! Thanks for the message. It’ll be more clear later in canon; basically senior officers can assemble and lead/manage their own teams so they can work on bigger tasks together. I couldn’t think of a better word than “hire” but I guess it makes sense if there’s some financial benefit to the whole arrangement.
Elias and Amber work independently most of the time while Jon will call them up whenever he needs them for a thing. They’re pretty lax about the hierarchy though and trust each other like friends

I don’t have many mother characters but this one’s my favorite. She’s an ex-mercenary, ex-junkie, weirdo, dumb as a brick, overly emotional, a pro at embarrassing her kids, but through some miracle managed to raise them okay

I actually imagine Phantomland to take place in the late 90′s, at least technology wise. I want the people to have pretty analog lifestyles, cellphones do exist but there’s no such thing as social media yet. Internet is neat but in storytelling you’re going to prefer characters that aren’t connected to each other 100% of the time. This is why Jon is famous for breaking phones, his life would be too easy otherwise
A little status update (´д`;)
In a nutshell - health problems are still a bitch, I’ve now seen two doctors who both have sticks up their ass and won’t believe what I tell them. It’s infuriating and I officially hate doctors now
I have a handful of options left to try but meanwhile I’ll just be tired and unproductive 24/7. What little energy I have left will be mostly spent on school. I’m even going on a school trip to Germany this Tuesday aaahhh oh boy (do I have followers in Stuttgart???)
I haven’t lost interest in drawing or making comics! Not at all. I just need some time to work things out. I’m currently two pages behind schedule but I promise to catch up eventually!

what brushes do you usually use to sketch with?
Hmm what kinda sketches are we talking about? If it’s digital I use a default brush, if it’s my comic I draw on paper.
