I think about things and question a lot of stuff because that’s what I do, that’s what I grew up doing, and that’s what I’ll keep doing in the future. I’ll sometimes write those thoughts down on my blog so if you dislike the content, feel free to click that unfollow button and have a nice day!

Sometimes I realize I’m wrong and ignorant and I apologize for it. That’s just normal for me; I’m not afraid of being wrong once in a while. I’ll much rather learn new interesting stuff through my fuck-ups than passively sit around mute because I’m too scared to speak at all. I’m not scared of the emotionally unstable little children on tumblr. I’m not gonna hang myself no matter how many times they tell me to. (Sorry guys, I’m not depressed enough to pull that off! I don’t even have a good rope!)

More writing after the cut.

Small Hands & Big Love is hilarious!!!! Will we see more of Small Hands Senpai and his soft uke Kouhai?

Small hands senpai gets laughed out of seme club. He goes on a long and heartfelt journey to gather funds for an expensive & dangerous hand surgery only to find out kouhai never cared about size to begin with. Love conquers all. The end

GOOD NEWS!

image

It’s official now, I’m interning at Frozenbyte!! It’s only my favorite game company in Finland so holy crap! This is a big turning point for me because there’s a good chance they’ll hire me for a paid position later. For the next few months I’ll be busting ass making videogames 40+ hours a week which will no doubt reduce the time and energy I have for other things, namely my art and comics. I won’t abandon them but they’re strictly hobbies now!

As much as I love storytelling and making comics that stuff suits me better as a recreational thing anyway. It’s true my works won’t get popular or recognized this way but, meh… that’s never been a priority. I really value being able to draw at my own pace.

Having said that, Phantomland updates may keep being irregular?? I still have no cure for my chronic exhaustion and a dayjob will be a giant struggle of it’s own (in the beginning at least). I can’t make any promises but I’ll draw as much as I’m able, guys! Thank you once again for sticking around and being so kind and supportive. ;;;;

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the character designs in Overwatch but that means I’m also more nitpicky about them. I look at Hanzo and I’m like yup, A+ hottie, though I’ve never seen a Japanese dude with a face like that.

I suspect the designer in question tends to sameface both their males and females a lot and we’re just cool with it because it’s their style or whatever, but I dunno. I think there’s many different kinds of beauty out there and it feels like a waste not to have that diversity. Especially when “diversity” is kind of a selling point for Overwatch.

Amber is freaking out and throws this HELLA VICIOUS jab because there’s no time to think. That’s the impression I was going for, anyway… I got obsessed with this panel and it gave me so much trouble. Had such a clear image in my head but it took me several tries until I got it right. (still could use some small fixes though)

Anonymous asked:

Hi there! I think I asked you this already a while ago but you might have forgotten. How did you come up with the story to phantomland? I want to make comics and I have a story in my head but it's not coming together! How to proceed?

Really? Sorry, I must’ve missed that one somehow. I answered a similar question a couple years ago though

I’m super flattered someone would ask me of all people for story advice, haha. I guess a good rule-of-thumb is to establish WHAT IS YOUR STORY ABOUT??? Focus on a theme and build the characters and plot around it. Have your characters WANT something. Figure out whether they’ll reach their goals and how.

With Phantomland I went for a story about a young awkward girl who’s got a lot to learn, because that’s easy to relate to. Chie’s stuck in a world of dangers and mean people, her #1 concern is to survive and look for a way out. So when writing each episode I basically ask myself, “what kind of horrible trauma will Chie suffer this time???” “in what clever way will these characters shit on Chie’s hopes and dreams???”

I don’t know, it’s complicated. I could ramble about the topic all night but I’m tired. I hope these points helped you even a little bit, if you have more specific questions I’m happy to answer! You could also google for that list of Pixar’s storytelling tips, it’s quite good as well
