One of the most valuable things I learned from Scott McCloud is that wanting to draw beautiful characters is not an excuse to make them all look the same. There are countless types of beauty out there, sticking to a single ideal will only get boring
I suspect I’d have to exaggerate my designs a lot more until the average reader could tell the difference though :’) I’ll get there someday

Chie from Phantomland dressed as Faith from Mirror’s Edge. Don’t know why, but the two just reminded me of each other. Maybe it’s the whole running thing.

Note to self: never start your big & ambitious work from a single character because you’ll just paint them halfway and then lose interest. I’m still learning to work on all parts of the picture equally

Draw whatever you like! Trust me I am SUPER FLATTERED every time someone pays tribute to my work. It’s the best thing.
