Aaahh I’m glad you like him but I can’t say for sure what I’m going to do with this character!

Originally he was a last-minute addition to Chapter 2 to provide some exposition but he ended up growing into something more. Jasper’s an useful character in that way though; he’s just a humble odd-job dude who’s always available when Chie needs someone to talk (and vent) to. Also he’s the only one who’s below Chie in the ranks so that’s an interesting detail too

I doubt he’ll disappear but he won’t be a major player in the plot either… There’s a way I could write Jasper a nice little subplot of his own but we’ll see if I can sneak it into the comic smoothly :)

A project of mine that started small but that I want to get big now is half-based on some wacky interpretation I had of some picture - which, after months, I recently stumbled across on my PC. The thing with Jasper’s design was intentional because I didn’t expect him to become an important character and simply borrowed the looks of an actor I liked at the time

I suppose everyone gets the occasional realization that they’ve ripped off something by accident. I’m terrified of the possibility myself so whenever I come across a cool thing I get a “DON’T IMITATE THIS” sort of reminder banging in my head… yet it still happens where I least expect it :D but that’s kind of a given, right. If you spent your whole life inside a blue room you could only paint blue rooms because that’s all you ever saw. Really the only way to create a new thing is to consume other things and mix those up

Good luck with your project, I’m sure you’ve molded it into your own brainchild by now, anyway :)
