poems-and-madness-deactivated20 asked:
this is literally the first time I've ever heard about this blog or you as an artist. So knowing this, could you please get me up to date on what you are about or better put what stuff you draw, what i can expect from your page. But also what is this comic thing I see you have posted about? what comic?
Hey, thanks for following! I assumed the front page of my blog would’ve been informative enough, but well… :D
I mostly make posts about my original stuff, for example my super rad comic project Phantomland which is available both in paper and webcomic format. Give it a shot if you’ve got the time!
Sometimes I draw fanart though my subject matters tend to be irregular and unpredictable. Currently my favorite series are Shingeki no Kyojin, Adventure Time and ASOIAF/Game of Thrones I think. Later this fall I’ll probably go nuts about Kill la Kill if it turns out as good as I hope!
Hahah all these people calling me naïve for hoping Ymir & Krista to end up happily together… maybe look up the definition for “hope”, I never said I’m sure of anything
Also what’s with all the fuss about character death? SnK isn’t nearly as cruel as people make it out to be. Sure there’s lots of death but all of the dead characters so far were written to be minor and expendable to begin with. One of the top10 trainee kids was originally planned to die in a certain scene but they got spared because the character was popular.
SnK has so many likable characters though, maybe it’s a little sociopathic to secretly wish horrible tragic deaths for them ahaha… I just really get a kick out of bold sacrifices I guess. “Red wedding” in ASOIAF for example
jadebee said: Have you thought about a sort of “wolf’s tail” like what Sokka from ATLA does with the buzzed/shaved sides but long on top, but pulled back? Looks awesome though!
Ah I love Sokka’s hair but I feel it’s too hip for Jon :D I’m leaning towards the zero maintenance haircuts because this was a period in his life where he didn’t give a shit about anything
Wow so many votes for young Jon’s hair! Thanks guys!
There were several people suggesting a bald/buzzcut style aaaand it certainly looks really thuggish, I like it :D Dirty hippie hair is more versatile though; I could use it to hide his face or whip it around or tie it in a ponytail…
A few people suggested me to change his clothes but I can’t get rid of the uniform coat. Some kind of shirt under it could make a difference though
I’ll keep looking at my options; you’ll see my final decision in a short flashback sequence in chapter 4 :)
Trying to design a hairdo for a slightly younger Jon and it’s impossible to figure out auuugh. He used to be even more of an evil jackass back in the day so the hair should reflect it somewhat, but messier styles just make him look like an embarrassing scene kid… and the more dignified styles make him look too old. I just can’t win
How did you come up with idea for Phantomland's story, world and characters? Were things different back then? And have characters changed in any ways from when you first planned them?
Good question, thanks!
I think the original idea was that if I’m gonna draw such a big project, naturally it should be something cool & entertaining so I just proceeded to slap together some of my OC’s and a bunch of story elements that I personally found interesting. Out came a world of uniforms and fighting, basically :D Writing an action-heavy thing about regular people would’ve been too limiting so I came up with the ghost virus, too. Things kinda evolved from there and the overarching drama and conflict ended up being mostly about this special minority of people and their role in society
Most of the characters haven’t changed all that much from my first drafts. The chief I originally designed to be male but changed at the last minute. Such a good decision though! Jon started off as a somewhat talkative type with witty remarks, but those traits seemed to suit Elias better, so I turned Jon more blunt and simple to balance that. Overall I haven’t been changing things so much as expanding them from where I started, like character dynamics, and how the virus works, and the politics and history of the city
But yeah, these things I actually explain in better detail in the bonus pages of the print version :)
Ha, couldn’t resist posting a preview thumbnail. This is a flashback image of Tywin and his kids; full version will be featured in our super rad ASOIAF fanzine so look forward to it! It’ll be out for sale at Fanfest in October (possibly available for mail order as well) so come grab yours
The Last of us has been praised a lot by critics and players alike. Interested in playing it?
Sure! It’s on my to-play list though I have no idea when I’ll get around to it ;v;
Drawing some Lannisters for an upcoming ASOIAF fanzine… young Tywin is turning out quite handsome if I say so myself hehe
cassybean said: God hand tho. A+ game probably one of the best releases for the ps2
I KNOW RITE
Gotta love a game that combines excellent gameplay with the stupidest story & characters ever… it’s so much fun

Do you have any favorite games?
Yes! Here’s a few titles I’m fond of
Overall I seem to be most interested in experimental/artistic games, horror games and Dorky Japanese Action Games ™
Atm I’m playing Persona 4 and Deadly Premonition aaaand I have a huge pile of potentially awesome games on my PS3 that I haven’t had the time to play yet :(
