What does the Finns generally think of Sweden/Swedes? What do you think of them?
Our stereotype of the Swede is an annoyingly cheerful and vain neighbor, haha… I suppose it stems from the fact that Finland had to fight off Russia in WWII while Sweden was never under threat, so they’ve enjoyed a time of peace and progress longer than us which has turned them “soft”
But even if we get dead-fucking-serious about beating Sweden in every sport and contest imaginable, most Finns actually think warmly of Sweden and Swedes. We have so many things in common after all. Personally I’d love to revisit Stockholm sometime soon and go to some local anime conventions as well :)

That’s a tough question though isn’t it? I’ve never lived outside Finland so I speak from a limited perspective but overall I doubt I could be happier anywhere else. It’s a great home for bohemian types because socialist government provides free education and a whole bunch of safety nets. Good for introverts as well since social etiquette is all about quality over quantity (i.e. we don’t do small talk or chat up strangers in public)
It’s a country with a depressing culture and long winters; it’s not for everyone but it’s perfect for me
As a Black person, that comment didn't offend me in the least. In fact, I'd say that was a compliment. even still, I don't understand why you would be called a racist. Nothing you said was hateful. The thing is, opinions on tumblr gets rolled over and name calling is quick. Again, nothing you said was wrong, but you'll have to pick and choose what you want to say when it comes to sharing your opinion here whether it's positive or negative (it's sad really).

I was a little weirded out by the accusation but then again what do I know? I’ve said and done shitty things before without realizing it so I figure the smartest thing to do is to ask someone to explain what’s up. It’s much easier than insisting that I’m faultless, anyway
Welp I guess it’s about time I got called racist for making a comment about black people. Maybe it wasn’t the best possible wording idk? I apologize to anyone who’s bothered by it though I’m not sure why that’s the case. I’m willing to learn, by all means educate me
Black people are a small minority in Finland = this is a fact, only 3.4% of the population are immigrants while most of those are white Europeans. I don’t imply it’s a good thing, we have a lot to learn from Sweden. I sorta admire anyone who manages to stay here at all because this is a notoriously difficult country to migrate to. Finns are withdrawn/racist, the language is impossible and the climate sucks, for starters
Chances are they’re well dressed = this is observation. I admit it could be confirmation bias but often when I spot a fashionable person in central Helsinki they tend to be non-white. White Finns dress like crap most of the time, myself included

Another animation exercise! Worked about two weeks on this
I used our school’s default rig but since the model looks kinda ugly I put masks on each character among other small tweaks. This way I didn’t need to animate faces either haha

At this point I want to remind you that you are not obligated to change your characters body types in any way just because someone else thinks they're too skinny. If you are happy with your characters now you shouldn't force them to change. I personally think your characters have a variety of body types already as well as personalities to go with them. You shouldn't feel bad about your characters not being ''something enough''. Just go with your flow.
Haha trust me I’m a loyal member of the “never listen to your readers” camp but that doesn’t mean I can’t agree with them occasionally. I really like all kinds of character diversity, so while it’s unlikely I’ll change old designs, I’m still able to put some thought into new characters I haven’t introduced yet!
That said, it's not impossible to see characters changing body type over time, right?
Well that’s an interesting thought
I mean why not? Some of the characters could gain (or lose) weight during the timespan of this story, provided that it makes sense in context. But how does one get fat, though? People seem to get in such heated arguments over the statistics of it that I’m really not interested in taking any stances, so that’s kind of tricky
The most plausible thing I could think of so far is that one of the characters could be chubby in their flashbacks, and I do kinda like the idea. That stuff’s a long time ahead though, but we’ll see if I can make it work
