Been thinking about new promo art for a while now…. I really like this composition but it would be crazy difficult to crop into banners etc. Chie has to be always visible but her face is just too far from the other characters.
I could’ve solved the problem by seating her on Jon’s lap but that is SUCH A DIRTY THOUGHT ;;;;;
Tbh I’ve been dreading these current pages for YEARS…. it’s kind of a game changer in the story and everything needs to be executed perfectly; designs, drawings, pacing, dialogue, etc. Even the smokey stuff I had a ton of trouble with before settling with the current style. I originally wanted a glowing effect but it would’ve been too complicated with the tools I’m using
Basically I’m kinda nervous about the next few pages haha. If next week’s update is late it probably means I’m still reworking some detail I’m not too confident about. The reception so far has been super positive so that’s a relief though! Thanks guys!

I’ve drawn a number of shorter comics before (and during) Phantomland. They’re all terrible, you’re not missing out. But I’ll tell you about two!
My first webcomic I drew over ten years ago. A girl’s mother goes missing so she hires a quirky magic user dude to track her down. It was 100% amateur weebshit (pardon my french), pretty fun at the time but too embarrassing to finish
Later I drew a short comic about a village controlled by a demon and an assassin gal who tries to kill him. The story was pretty decent but I rushed it to hell to enter a contest and wasn’t satisfied with the end product
The demon comic was a prototype of sorts for Phantomland! I liked the character dynamic so I wanted to do it again basically.
Whenever I check your blog and see/remember your icon it makes me laugh 😂 I have a headcanon: When Chie is bored she puts her bow above her head and practices a serious face in front of a mirror but she can't keep it and ends doing that thing👆

I just received your holiday card in the mail. I was so confused to be receiving something from Finland (I live in the US). That was unexpected and super sweet! It honestly brightened a pretty rough day. It's such a nice gesture. ;w; Thank you for sharing your wonderful comic with us.
I wish you wrote this off anon so I’d know who you are haha… Yeah, knowing the home addresses of some of my readers is pretty handy so I end up doing stuff like this for fun. I’m really happy to hear you liked the card ♡ wishing you a terrific end of the year!!

Uhhh sorry for the late update again
I just went on holidays all excited like YEAH! I’m gonna draw SO MUCH! But instead I’ve been…. sleeping… almost nonstop… it’s weird. My health is weird
The good news is there’s a chance I have a certain medical condition causing this and if I get the diagnosis, it should be pretty easy to manage. It could change my life holy shit. Fingers crossed!
